"I haven't been so inspired for ages at a clinic. Everyone noticed that M enjoyed this w/e, and those who have seen her at NH clinics, pointed out that is not often the case there. By the end of the w/e I was not only happier with my horse & myself, but proud of both of us too! Everyone did so well, the whole thing was a pleasure". - R, clinic rider
Venues
Clinics and lessons are currently available at Alden Sport Horses, a beautiful yard on the downs near the Ridgeway and a few miles' drive south of Oxford (not far from Blewbury Equestrian Centre, the BSJA venue). www.aldenlivery.com
I give clinics and lessons at other locations around the UK, but rely on local organisers to make venue and rider booking arrangements in return for a discounted rider slot. If you are thinking of organising a clinic in your area, please email and we'll send you the Clinic Organiser's Notes.
Clinic content & costs
Clinics vary in length and format depending on the group. There is always plenty of one-to-one teaching. A typical two day clinic would include a theory session, two 50 minute riding sessions for each rider (up to 8 riders), and sessions on Classical Groundwork or Perfection of the Seat. Spectators are also involved and encouraged to ask questions and learn with the riders.
"From a spectator's point of view the clinic was brilliant, the participants were really nice and friendly and fun, the horses enjoyed themselves and Annabelle coped fantastically with us all. Can't wait for the next clinic!" - F. clinic spectator
"Training a horse is above all feeling - and trying, according to what you feel, to help the horse and not to force him."
Nuno Oliveira
Lessons (outside clinics)
Lessons outside clinics are currently available in the Oxfordshire and Lincolnshire areas.

Occasionally (and possibly after a stiff drink) I'm available for entertaining demonstrations/lectures/instructing at Riding Club/Pony Club events. (The stiff drink was for Pony Club!)

Craig Stevens, my trainer, runs weekend clinics 5 times a year in Gloucestershire. I highly recommend attending his clinics if you have the opportunity. There is always plenty to learn, and I still ride with Craig frequently, in the UK or the US. It may be hard to follow at first, but learn with an open mind and before long you will discover some wonderful riding experiences.
